Public Relations Self-Assessment
How well is your organization  reaching its potential?

How well is your organization messaging and communicating in order to get to the next level?

It’s said that when we die, we are not judged by the divine, but by ourselves. Near-death experiences typically involve a flashback review of one’s life, and we feel the pain we inflicted on others, and we feel anguish over it. Perhaps it is a divine way of judging us indirectly, leaving us to make the moral pronouncement over ourselves. After all, God probably has better things to do with his time.

What does this have to do with self-assessments? As an individual or organization vying for success, we do certain things the right way and the wrong way. Our success depends on how our performances are judged by our peers, employers, publics, analysts, and other forces and influencers.

By assessing ourselves, we can have a near-death experience where we can evaluate and pass judgment over ourselves, providing us insight into where we fall short in our endeavors. Self-assessments in specific areas of our career and business lives can give us direction and guidelines for self-improvement and self-advancement. With a self-assessment, we have the luxury of effectively judging ourselves before or in addition to being judged by others.

In these self-assessments provided here, you pick an area that you are involved with. There are right and wrong answers, indicated by a yes or no response on your part. The “score” or rating that you earn with a self-assessment is a point-by-point identification of where you are weak and lacking, where you need to improve or gain more mastery or control.

If you are failing or not doing as well as you’d like in the area of your self-assessment, you will have a better idea of why and what you need to do to make improvements and succeed more.

Take the self-audit and assessment (above left DF) and see where you stand.
